    The festival of Diwali (also known as the festival of lights) is celebrated to commemorate the return of the Hindu God Rama to his kingdom after defeating the evil king Ravana. However, as many things in Hinduism, this is not the only story associated with Diwali. There are many other mythological stories associated with this festival in different parts of India.

  • A new Pax Pacifica – a Beijing Vignette

    Last week Susie McShane and Kate Losowsky from the Tony Blair Faith Foundation (TBFF) attended the 9th Annual Beijing Forum.  The Forum is organised jointly by Peking University, the Beijing Municipal Commission of Education and the Korea Foundation for Advanced Studies, with support and advice coming from a variety of sources, including TBFF.  TBFF is working with PKU and the Beijing Forum to explore research and analysis around Faith and Globalisation.   • Philippines peace agreement

    The Tony Blair Faith Foundation has been working in the Philippines to help build understanding between different religions since 2011. The Foundation’s global education programme, Face to Faith, helps nurture a generation of young people who are better equipped to deal with difference. The programme gives students the opportunity to discuss global issues from different religious and cultural perspectives and teaches key mediation and conflict resolution skills. This work is being carried out against the backdrop of conflict in the Philippines.

  • The Road to malaria elimination 2020: investment and beyond

    Acting Chief Executive of the Tony Blair Faith Foundation, Charlotte Keenan recently joined some of the world’s top-malaria experts, national malaria directors, donors and companies with a special interest in malaria at the Road to Malaria Elimination 2020 Conference in Johannesburg, South Africa.   • Peace Day reaches 60,000 people

    Up to 60,000 people from the Tony Blair Faith Foundation’s global schools programme, Face to Faith took part in the Global Truce 2012 campaign. The goal was to achieve the largest ever gathering of individuals and reduction of violence in the name of peace one day. Peace Day, 21 September, was established by the UN after Jeremy Gilley, founder of Peace One Day led the initiative to establish the first-ever annual day of global ceasefire and non-violence.
