Tony Blair Faith Foundation Hires New Executive Director

05 Jun 2015

Angela Salt is joining the Tony Blair Faith Foundation as its new Executive Director. Angela will join the Foundation later in the summer from the international development charity VSO, where she is UK Director.

Chair of the Foundation’s Trustees Jeremy Sinclair said:

"The trustees are delighted to have recruited Angela to take on the task started so ably by her predecessors. The need for the Foundation's practical work countering religious prejudice, conflict and extremism becomes ever more apparent every day. Angela has the skills and experience to lead the Foundation in developing our existing projects as well as finding new opportunities for the Foundation to reach new areas."

Angela Salt said:

"There is an urgent need for this work and I am excited about taking on this challenge at a crucial time."

"I'm really looking forward to leading a team of people committed to increasing understanding of the impact of religion around the world. The Tony Blair Faith Foundation is a global resource, countering extremism and helping policy makers understand extreme religious ideologies and the conflict they cause. There is an urgent need for this work and I am excited about taking on this challenge at a crucial time."

Angela has a long history of successful operational delivery with decades of experience across the corporate and not-for-profit sectors. Prior to working at VSO her previous roles include a key position working on the successful London 2012 Olympics. Angela was awarded the OBE in 2000 for public service.
