September 25th 2008 - a Special Event
Dear Friend,
I am excited to be able to write today about a special event, streamed live online, on 25th September 2008 hosted by the Tony Blair Faith Foundation in Los Angeles. September 25th 2008 is a day of great significance across the world for the Millennium Development Goals, and the day the United Nations has designated as the midway point for achieving the goals by 2015.
To commemorate and join with others working towards the Goals on this day, the online event will discuss the positive contribution of young people of all faiths are making, and can make together, towards achieving those common goals.
I will be hosting the panel with Tony Blair, former Prime Minister and founder of the Tony Blair Faith Foundation; Hamza Yusuf, a significant and influential Islamic scholar; and Saleemah Abdul-Ghafur, of Malaria No More and an activist for Muslim women and Islam in the West.
You are among the first to hear about this exciting event, to be streamed live, online, around the world. I wanted you to have the chance to ask some of the first questions to the panel - take this chance to join the international online community via the Foundation's website by submitting your question to faithsact@tonyblairfaithfoundation.org.
The panel want to hear your questions and give you the opportunity to discuss how you think more could be achieved by people coming together across faith divides in pursuit of these common goals, and your ideas on how to take action together.
And check back here to the Tony Blair Faith Foundation website on September 25th at 5.15pm PDT to watch the event live.
This will be a great chance for you, and countless people from different faith communities online around the world, to discuss your thoughts and ideas on how we can move forward together to be part of the solution to the world's greatest challenges. I hope you will join us!
Thank you
