Sharing Stories

Dear Friend,

We have been overwhelmed by the enthusiastic and generous response to our FaithsAct campaign of many of our supporters all around the world, who are mobilising their communities and demonstrating the good of faith in action. I thought I would share with you some of the stories that have come into the office that have been particularly touching and inspiring.

Leah in Massachusetts, USA and her local non-profit organisation 'Interfaith Action' are launching a really exciting campaign called 'One Bag One Life'. The aim of the campaign is to sell reusable eco-friendly grocery bags to raise money for bed nets. Read more here

Zephaniah wrote to us from Uganda, telling us all about how he was inspired to mobilise his community to support themselves by Tony's call to action. Read more here

One of the more unique ideas comes from Amanda in Connecticut, USA, who is using her love of music to stage a multi-faith concert. Amanda is inviting choirs and groups from all faiths to perform, and the responses to her requests have been so enthusiastic that she is already looking for a bigger venue!

We also received a powerful message from Thomas in Uganda, which reminded us of the importance of working towards peaceful co-existence and of acting together to help give others the means to develop themselves. Read Thomas's story here

Sometimes there are messages that uplift us and sometimes there are some that inspire us. This one, sent to us by Ari, the founder of an organisation called Project Muso who we work closely with in Mali, is a story that does both. Read Ari's story here
